In Appreciation of Outstanding Leadership

Our communities locally elect nine members to voluntarily serve on the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Board of Education, and to be leaders and champions for public education in our communities, region and state.  The most important responsibility of your school board is to work with our communities to improve student achievement in our local public schools.  Your school board is also responsible for:

  • employing the superintendent;

  • developing and adopting policies, curriculum, and the budget;

  • overseeing facilities planning, maintenance, and development; and

  • adopting collective bargaining agreements.

At the December meeting of the LCC Board of Education, four members were recognized for their dedicated service, not only as long-serving school board members, but for truly serving as champions and advocates for our students, their families, and most importantly, for public education in Nebraska.

These four local individuals represent a combined total of 48.5 years of experience and service to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School.  Please join us in sharing our appreciation for these outstanding members of the LCC Board of Education.

Steve Schutte - 8 years of dedicated service

Betty Jo Leapley - 16 years of dedicated service

John Wolfgram - 12 years of dedicated service

Richard Brandow - 12.5 years of dedicated service
