Selective Service System
Register at SSS.gov
Registration with the U.S. Selective Service System is required by all men within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Registration can be completed online in about 45 seconds at SSS.gov. Men can preregister at 17 years and 3 months of age and their registration will be held until they reach age 18. Registration with the Selective Service System can help men avoid a lifetime of consequences for failing to do so. Benefits lost by failing to register include access to:
- College Grant and Loan Programs.
- Job Training Programs
- All federal, and postal employment, and many state, municipal and contractor jobs.
- Delays in citizenship processing up to five years.
Again, registration with the Selective Service System can be completed online in about 45 seconds at SSS.gov. Please see Mr. Gottula for assistance or more information.
