Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School is pleased to share the results of its 2026 Triennial Wellness Assessment, a federally required review of the district's Local Wellness Policy and the progress made toward supporting the health and well-being of our students.
The assessment was completed by the district's Wellness Committee, which includes school administrators, staff members, and wellness partners. The review examined the district's compliance with wellness policy requirements, progress toward wellness goals, and alignment with nationally recognized model wellness policy standards.
The assessment found that LCC School maintains a strong and comprehensive wellness program that meets all required federal wellness policy components. Highlights of the district's efforts include:
Nutrition education and promotion activities across all grade levels.
Access to physical activity opportunities during and beyond the school day.
Community wellness events and partnerships that support healthy lifestyles.
Student and staff access to hydration stations throughout district facilities.
Ongoing collaboration with local health agencies and community organizations.
Community access to school recreational facilities, including playgrounds, the track, football field, and fitness center.
The Wellness Committee also identified several opportunities for continued growth, including expanding physical activity opportunities for high school students, strengthening K-12 health and physical education curriculum alignment, increasing nutrition and fitness educational displays, and exploring additional healthy food options for students and families.
As a result of the assessment, the district has developed a Wellness Action Plan for the 2026-2027 school year. Planned initiatives include healthier concession stand options, updates to wellness-related procedures and guidelines, expanded nutrition education efforts, additional recess opportunities at the elementary level, and continued improvements to student wellness programming.
LCC School remains committed to supporting the whole child and promoting healthy habits that contribute to student success both in and out of the classroom.
