On October 14, Spanish Club and Art Clubs traveled to Omaha, Nebraska, to watch a musical called Sugar Skull at the Orpheum Theater. The play focused on the ofrenda, an important part of Mexican tradition used to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. The Spanish Club was able to learn more about Mexican culture and traditions, while Art Club members had the chance to look at the different sugar skull designs and see the creativity and detail that goes into them.

After the show, the clubs went to Guaca Maya, a Mexican buffet that served authentic Mexican food. There were many new things for students to try, giving them a chance to experience different foods and flavors. After eating, the group drove to a bridge near the state line and were able to be in two states at one time.  The groups divided at the state lines before heading back to the bus.

The trip gave students a chance to learn outside the classroom, explore Mexican culture through music and art, try authentic food, and spend time together with their clubs.
