Today, 22 LCC High School students participated in the Northeast Community College Scholastic Competition. Students took tests on topics ranging from American Government to Welding to Physics. While students waited for their testing slots they had the opportunity to socialize with the plethora of students from surrounding schools who participated. Contest results will be announced next week!!

From supporting student learning to building meaningful relationships, our paras are essential to who we are as a school community. Their patience, dedication, and care help create environments where all students can succeed.
At LCC School, we truly are Stronger Together, and our paraprofessionals are a big part of that strength.
Please join us in saying THANK YOU to these amazing team members for all they do to support our students, staff, and schools! 👏🍎

Today, Wednesday, April 1st, LCC School will be conducting an important Reunification Safety Drill, following school dismissal at 2:00 pm, as part of our ongoing commitment to student safety and preparedness.
This drill involves a select group of volunteer students (Grades 3, 5, and High School), staff, and community partners, including local law enforcement. Families of participating students have already been notified.
🟠 What’s happening?
The drill will begin at 2:20 PM, with reunification practice taking place at the Laurel Community Center starting at 3:00 PM.
🟠 What is a reunification drill?
This is a practice scenario that prepares us to safely reunite students with their parents/guardians in the event of an emergency that requires relocation from school.
🟠 Why it matters:
While we hope to never need this process, being prepared is critical. This drill allows us to:
✔️ Practice and refine our procedures
✔️ Train staff and partners
✔️ Help students feel more comfortable and confident in a real situation
Please note: Only selected participants are involved. All other students will have their planned early dismissal at 2:00 pm today.
We are grateful for the support of our staff, students, families, and community partners as we work together to keep LCC safe.

On Tuesday, April 7, testing will be administered for all high school students at the high school building.
9th grade: PreACT 8/9
10th grade: PreACT
11th grade: ACT
Please help your student prepare by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast before arriving at school.
Important reminders:
Juniors will be dismissed immediately following the completion of their testing.
Seniors should report to school at 11:30 a.m. for a mandatory class meeting.
High school track pictures will be taken at 2:30 p.m. All athletes need to report at that time and remain for practice afterward.
Thank you for your support in helping our students be prepared and successful on testing day.

Students rotated through interactive sessions exploring soils, native plants, and wildlife, gaining a deeper understanding of the natural systems around them. They then toured windbreaks and the arboretum before putting their knowledge into action by designing their own windbreaks.
This “Biology in Action” experience gave students the opportunity to apply classroom concepts to real-world problem solving—building skills that go far beyond the textbook.
This collaborative event was hosted by Haskell Agricultural Laboratory in partnership with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and Nebraska Forestry. 🌾

On March 26th, 15 LCC High School youth participated in the Empower Youth Summit in Bellevue. The students were welcomed by Keynote speaker Foster Huggins, sharing a powerful message about living a meaningful life.
Students then transitioned through breakout sessions of their choice focused on leadership, connection and relationships, technology, mental health, goals, and well-being, all leading students to small group discussions and an overview of resources available to promote self care and wellness.
