Music is in the air! District Music Contest will be held at the South Sioux City Middle School on Friday, April 19, 2024. View the vocal and band schedule. Good luck to our musicians!

A recent article published in the local newspaper contained inaccurate information regarding recent discussion by the Board of Education in consideration of grade level assignments at the elementary and middle schools.
The district is considering reassigning Grade 5 to the elementary building rather than transitioning them to the middle school for the 2024-2025 school year. This would mean that our current 4th grade students would remain at the elementary school building next school year.
The middle school grades would then be 6th-8th, with this year’s 8th grade students transitioning as expected to the 9th grade at the high school campus in Laurel.

The LCC School Board of Education approved the 2024-2025 school calendar at its regular meeting on Monday, April 8, 2024.
The most significant difference from the current school year calendar relates to the frequency and duration of scheduled professional development for school staff. The weekly Wednesday early release for PD has been modified to an every other week schedule, resulting in an average of two early dismissals per month. Accordingly, the early dismissal time has also been adjusted for the upcoming school year with a 1:10 pm early dismissal as compared to this year's 2:00 pm dismissal.
Consideration was given to a Late Start model for professional development, however, feedback from various patron groups was not favorable. Specific plans will be developed to provide After-School care opportunities for families, as well as a targeted plan for high school and junior high activities and practices.
